Aron Feuer is a recognized expert in cybersecurity. In 1998, he founded Cygnos Information Security, a national consultancy acquired by a national accounting firm in 2012. Aron has extensive industry experience across all three levels of government, finance, technology, and health care. His project experience includes leading the IT Forensics investigation in the Robocall scandal, incident response to attacks by the hacker group Anonymous and the security certification of Canada’s classified networks. Aron is head of Algonquin College’s cybersecurity program advisory board. He is currently co-authoring Privacy Fundamentals for Canadian Practitioners with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Sameer Malik is a recognized expert in Information Technology, Strategy, Cloud and IT Operations. Over the last 15 years, Sameer has delivered advanced Enterprise Solutions, Infrastructure Support, Network Architecture, Data Centre Migrations, Business Systems Design and B2B (Web Services). Sameer is also highly proficient in the delivery of security audits and assessments.

Michael Power is a recognized expert in privacy. He is the author of The Law of Privacy, published by Lexis Nexis as well as Halsbury’s Laws of Canada – Access to Information and Privacy (2005, 2011 and 2016 editions), published by Butterworth’s. Michael has over 15 years’ experience dealing with privacy-related questions. His past experience includes serving as a member of the federal Department of Justice, a partner at national law firm and as Vice-President, Privacy and Security at an Ontario Crown Agency.

Meredith Appleby is a recognized expert in privacy, having helped to advance privacy concepts and best practices throughout the country dating back to 1992. This includes acting as an advisor in the development of standards to protect personal information and personal health information, participating in the development of a provincial blueprint for electronic health records, assisting in the development of a government standard for Privacy Impact Assessments, directing, arguably, the first cross-country implementation of a program to meet the requirements of Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and developing a regional privacy program for six hospitals in response to Ontario’s PHIPA. Meredith also has extensive complementary experience in security standards and best practices, and enterprise risk management.
Darren Budd, CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, CRMA is a principal with Orbis. Following a successful career leading the internal audit functions in the financial and energy industries, Darren has been providing a range of consulting service to public sector and other clients since 2006. He has been with Orbis since 2012 and has been collaborating on projects with Valencia Global since 2015. Orbis Risk Consulting is a boutique firm specializing in providing high-quality and strategic audit, risk consulting and business process improvement services since 2006. Their team of experienced consultants are committed to providing advice that equips clients with knowledge and innovative ideas, and empowers them to make the difficult decisions required to achieve their goals.
Ross Screaton is recognized for his technical knowledge of infrastructure security, networking, and application security. As a senior practitioner, Ross has worked across a variety of regulated industries including Municipal, Federal, Energy, and Educational markets. He is well regarded for his practical and applied approach to IT Security program and architecture projects. An experienced collaborator and communicator, Ross is successful in presenting complex security concepts to business and executive stakeholders.
Trevor Stevado, for the past 8 years, Trevor has specialized in offensive security assessments for application and network infrastructure security. Trevor has led or contributed to numerous red team engagements, penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, threat and risk assessments and forensic investigations, for a wide variety of industry sectors including federal, provincial and municipal governments, health care, education and private sector clients. Prior to his work as a security consultant Trevor spent 6 years as a software security engineer and manager at various multi-national software companies. His experience provides him with an in-depth knowledge of modern application architectures and the ability to quickly understand and analyze complex networks and applications to find sophisticated vulnerabilities often missed by other testing methods.
Ann Wyganowski Ann's consulting background includes over 28 years of managing large projects in various industries across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. Ann works with large global corporations, all levels of government, small businesses, and charitable organizations on business continuity, emergency planning, and IT DR plans. .Ann is the Past President of the Toronto Disaster Recovery Information Exchange, current Vice President, and a member of the Advisory Board to the World Conference on Disaster Management. Ann is a member of Centennial College's Emergency Management Certificate Program Faculty and chairs Centennial’s Emergency Management and Public Safety Institute.
